2022 EVENING WEAR COLLECTION
In the final year of my Fashion Design program, I crafted a couture collection, following my dream of creating wearable art. FLORII draws inspiration from my Romanian heritage, blending traditional techniques and silhouettes with a contemporary twist.
Given the current world climate, I wanted to show the transformation that war brings on culture, using the example of the fight for freedom of expression during the Romanian revolution. The term FLORII translates to a celebration of flowers, which in themselves are a symbol of freedom.
MOODBOARD
TRADITION
This collection brings to light the beautiful and intricate elements of the ages old Romanian culture. A part of my heritage, the collection draws elements from traditional Romanian costumes, namely the intricate embroidery, colours and silhouettes.
FREEDOM
The collection also draws on the concept of freedom and the 1989 Romanian communist revolution, a huge impact on modern society in the country. It brings to light that freedom is our fundamental right and that we constantly need to fight for it.
